Our Philosophy

There are lots of things that would describe our heart and passion. Let me comment on a few to begin our discussion with you. The ministry desires to be gospel driven, community focused, arts intensive, family centered and network centric. Now what's all that stuff mean?

Gospel-Driven

First, to be Gospel driven is to hold at the very core of the ministry that the gospel is the good news that through Christ the power of God's kingdom has entered history to renew the whole world. When we believe and rely on Jesus' work and record (rather than ours) for our relationship to God, that kingdom power comes upon us and begins to work through us. To imagine, if you will, what it might look like in Greensboro and the Triad to have God''s kingdom become visible. That is the power of the gospel.

Community-Focused

We believe that nothing will promote the peace and health of Greensboro like the spread of faith in the gospel. It renews both individual lives and reweaves the fabric of whole neighborhoods. We believe that nothing moves Christians to humbly serve, live with, and love all the diverse people of the Triad like the gospel does. Though we want to joyfully invite every person to faith in Jesus, we are committed to sacrificially serving our neighbors whether they believe as we do or not. We do this by using our gifts and resources for the needs of others, especially the poor. And more than merely meeting individual needs, we work for justice for the powerless.

Arts and Culture-Intensive

We believe that the arts and creative communication are effective ways to point our communities to Jesus Christ. We believe that the gospel has a deep, vital, and healthy impact on the arts, business, government, media, and academy of any society. Therefore, we are highly committed to support Christians' engagement with culture, helping them work with excellence, distinctiveness, and accountability in their professions. We are committed to presenting the truths of the Gospel in a culturally relevant way using the arts and creative communication.

Family-Centered

Our vision for family ministry is to be both simple and significant. This includes equipping parents to teach their kids about God. This includes biblical, practical, and age-appropriate teaching on Sundays and Little Groups as well as an abundance of equipping through print, video, and audio resources as well as mentoring relationships, We believe the primary emphasis in the Scriptures is placed upon parents to be the primary channels of character formation and spiritual instruction and that it is the Church's role to come alongside and equip them for this most important journey.

Network-Centric

God is doing great things through an expanding number of collaborative church planting networks. Imagine the potential of these networks working together...sharing with one another and learning from one another. We have no illusions that our single church is sufficient to renew all of Greensboro and the surrounding Triad area spiritually, socially, and culturally. We are therefore committed to the church planting movement and other like-minded churches in our area that share an interest in working together on a renewal of gospel vitality in all of Greensboro.
